Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

Draft MVP privacy policy for product testing. Review it against your actual production data flows and Australian privacy/spam requirements before launch.

1. Information we collect

For a guest price alert, Clokq may collect your email address, postcode, selected product, target or alert rule, buying window, alert status, and technical identifiers needed to manage the alert.

2. Why we use it

We use this information to provide product comparison, monitor your selected price rule, send the transactional alert you requested, provide a secure alert-management link, maintain security and improve the service.

3. No account required

Guest users can create a price watch without a password. A random browser key helps show watches created in that browser, while a separate secure manage link lets you access an individual alert.

4. Email communications

Price alerts and manage links are service messages requested by you. Marketing communications should be handled separately with the appropriate consent and unsubscribe controls.

5. Retailer links

When you click through to a retailer, that retailer may collect information under its own privacy policy. A production version may record outbound click events for analytics or affiliate attribution.

6. Security and retention

Clokq should use reasonable safeguards, minimise retained personal information, and define production retention and deletion periods before launch.

7. Access and deletion

The production policy should explain how users can access, correct or request deletion of personal information and provide the business contact responsible for privacy requests.
